Following Jesus has never worked as an isolated thing; when gathering His early followers, Jesus gathered and shaped a group of friends. Friendship is a core part of Christianity and in GCC we do want our core identity to be in being friends.
The way people join GCC is varied; for some it means first being part of one of the smaller groups, projects or cells while for others Sundays are the initial connecting point. Once you are regularly involved with us we want to be committed to you - regardless of where you are on your faith journey.
Our core aspiration is that everyone in GCC will be in a place where they belong, in an environment where they can grow and have an opportunity to contribute. Most people who become Christians do so through friendships. Every Christian should also have friends who support, challenge and encourage us to keep 'going on with God.'
Joining and belonging to GCC is a two way thing and it can take several months to 'feel' part - especially if moving into the area for the first time. Practically speaking, Sundays are obviously a major place to 'touch' GCC while we are very happy to link people with cells and smaller groups as soon as possible.
Beyond that there are specific ways to link into projects or GCC activities such as prayer, worship, discipleship training, outreach etc. Several times a year we run an evening for 'New to GCC' to explain further who we are and answer questions. Following these 'New to GCC's' we welcome people during a Sunday morning
